Simon began his career in tour operating with First Choice Holidays during the early Nineties, and has spent most of his time working in commercially-focussed roles. At First Choice he was a key member of the Yield and Planning function responsible for revenue management across 5 million holidays every year.
Following the merger of First Choice with Thomson Holidays in 2007, Simon successfully led a strand of the integration team responsible for developing the inventory and yield systems required by what became the UK’s largest tour operator.
Simon joined Crystal as Commercial Director in 2008, and following the integration of TUI Travel’s Specialist businesses in 2010, became Managing Director.
Outside of work, Simon was once a regular skier although recently a very nasty ligament injury has put paid to most of that. Nevertheless he can still be found gazing wistfully at mountains during his regular trips overseas – from the comfort of the bar, of course.
Meanwhile, Simon also calls himself a football fan, although how that can be the case when he supports Aston Villa, one will never know!
